Create Your First Organization

In this guide, you will learn how to create your first organization after registering for a GeoCloud account.

What is an Organization?

Organization is the highest-level management unit in GeoCloud, allowing:

  • Manage members and permissions within the group
  • Create and share projects with your team
  • Control data access by role
  • Organization-level usage statistics
  • Set up common workflows

When to Create an Organization?

  • Have a team of 2 or more people
  • Need to share projects and data
  • Manage different access permissions

  • Multiple projects at once
  • Need to track progress and reports
  • Control data quality

Organization Creation Process

Step 1: Log in to the System

After successfully registering an account, log in to GeoCloud.

Step 2: Access Organization Creation

From the main Dashboard:

  1. Click “Organization” on the left sidebar to view the organization list
  2. Click the ”+” button to create a new organization

Step 3: Fill in Basic Information

In the organization creation popup, fill in the required information:

Organization Name (required)

  • Display name of the organization
  • Example: “ABC Company Ltd.”, “Department of Natural Resources & Environment”

Brief Description (optional)

  • Main field of operation
  • Goal of using GeoCloud

Click “Create Organization” to complete.

Next Steps

After successfully creating an organization:

  1. Invite members - Add colleagues to the team
  2. Create your first project - Start with a COLLECT project
  3. Upload data - Test with sample data
