This guide provides detailed and advanced setup steps for GeoCloud organizations, including information configuration, policy settings and post-creation management.

Organization Information Setup

Basic Information

Organization Name (required)

  • Display name of the organization
  • Example: “ABC Company Ltd.”, “Department of Natural Resources”
  • Note: This name will be displayed in all interfaces and reports

Organization Description

  • Information about field of operation
  • Goal of using GeoCloud
  • Not required but recommended for team context

Contact Information

Headquarters Address

  • Official address of the organization
  • Used for reporting and support purposes

Contact Phone

  • Organization hotline
  • Customer support email

Website (optional)

  • Official website URL
  • Will be displayed in public profile

Initial Setup

Geographic Settings

Main Operating Area:

  • Select main province/city
  • Can select multiple areas
  • Affects default map view and coordinate system suggestions

Preferred Coordinate System:

  • VN-2000 (EPSG:3405): For Vietnam data, high accuracy
  • WGS84 (EPSG:4326): For international data, wide compatibility
  • UTM Zone 48N (EPSG:32648): For Northern Vietnam
  • UTM Zone 49N (EPSG:32649): For Southern Vietnam

Data Policies

Default Security Level:

  • Public: Everyone can view and download
    • Suitable for: Research data, public information
  • Organization: Only organization members can access
    • Suitable for: Internal data, project collaboration
  • Private: Only creator has access
    • Suitable for: Sensitive data, work in progress

Storage Duration:

  • 1 month: For test data
  • 6 months: For short-term projects
  • 1 year: For long-term projects
  • Permanent: For important data

Backup Policy:

  • Automatic: Daily backup (recommended)
  • Manual: Admin manages backup
  • Hybrid: Combination of both

Advanced Configuration

Storage and Bandwidth Management

Storage Limits:

  • Set quota for each member
  • Alert when approaching limit
  • Auto-cleanup old data

Bandwidth Management:

  • Limit upload/download speed
  • Priority queue for important data
  • CDN configuration for performance

Security Settings

After Creating Organization

1. Invite First Members
