Manage Project
In this guide, you will learn how to create and manage projects in GeoCloud - where you store and manage your GIS data.
What is a Project?
Project in GeoCloud is a container for GIS data and analysis tools. Each project has:
- GIS Data (Vector, Raster, Database)
- Interactive Map viewer
- Analysis and reporting tools
- Member and permission management
- Sharing and public settings
Project Types
GeoCloud currently supports COLLECT projects - specially designed for field data collection.
COLLECT Projects
Purpose: Professional field data collection
Key Features:
- Data collection forms: Create custom survey forms
- GPS tracking: Accurate positioning and tracking
- Offline sync: Work without internet, sync when connected
- Photo and multimedia: Capture photos, audio, video on device
- Quality control: Automatic data validation
- Team collaboration: Assign and manage survey teams

Create New Project
Step 1: Access Project Creation Page
- From Dashboard, click “Projects” on sidebar
- Click “Create New” or ”+“
Step 2: Fill in Project Information
Basic Information:
- Project Name: Display name
- Project Code: Unique ID (URL-friendly)
- Description: Project details
- Tags: Search keywords
Geographic Settings:
- Area: Select geographic area
- Coordinate System: EPSG code (default: 4326)
- Boundary: Draw boundary on map
Access Settings:
- Private: Only invited members
- Organization: Organization members
- Public: Everyone can view
Project Dashboard
After creation, you will see:
- Overview: Statistics overview
- Data: GIS data management
- Maps: Create and edit maps
- Members: Member management
- Settings: Project settings
Project Roles
Owner
- Highest authority in project
- Delete project
- Manage all members
Admin
- Manage data and maps
- Add/remove members
- Project settings
Editor
- Edit data and maps
- Create new maps
- Upload data
Viewer
- View data and maps only
- Download (if permitted)
- No editing
